The units are comprised of multiple banks of solar panels, storage batteries, a backup propane generator, and inverters and other electronics to manage the system. The solar panels gather power from the sun and provide the power to the batteries and inverters. This DC power is then converted to AC by the onboard inverters, to generate a 240v/120v electric service. Depending on the model, the AC service may be 50amps, 80 amps, or even over 100 amps. In the event that the battery charge drops to a low charge, the backup generator automatically starts up, supplements the inverters, and recharges the batteries.

Our 16kW unit will typically run a 1600 square foot house with average moderate loads, completely off grid. The same unit would provide more than adequate backup for a larger house. Our 20kW unit will power a home up to 2700 square feet with average moderate loads, completely off the grid.

For a residential or commercial building application, your last 12 months detailed utility bills, will allow us to help you size your requirements. The data plate on high load items (such as your A/C or electric dryer) will show the voltage and amperage requirements for the item, and will also help size your system.

Currently, we have customers with a wide variety of applications, including:

• Farming and Ranching, that includes well pump operation, water mist irrigation, and greenhouse lighting.
• Disaster Recovery, that includes temporary and long-term power for recovery from fire disasters, floods, hurricanes, freeze outages, and tornadoes.
• Commercial applications, such as powering small commercial buildings, or freestanding temporary operations. In 2020 and 2021, as many as 40 of our units were used to power COVID-19 testing sites set up in football and basketball stadium parking lots.
• Construction applications, from commercial construction to home building.
• Vacation home power applications, regardless of the remote location.
• Remote power in areas where little or no electric infrastructure exists. 

Pricing depends on the model selected and whether any particular options are selected by the customer. In general, our systems are much less expensive than stand-alone, rooftop solar systems of the same power, and have the added advantage of being mobile. Please contact us for a price quote.

Yes, they are eligible for the 30% Tax Credit. In addition to the purchase price, the costs of setup and installation, such as having an electrician set an additional junction box to connect to your existing service, can be included in the total that is applicable to the Tax Credit.
